The President of the United States Federation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (USF BJJ) is Master Joe Moreira, who has played a major role in the dissemination of the sport in America in the 1990s and 2000s. With more than 40 years of martial arts experience, an Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran, and holding an 8th degree BJJ Coral Belt, Master Joe has personally taught hundreds of international BJJ seminars and more than 15000 students.
Master Joe has a vision and mission for the USF BJJ to help develop the moral character and fitness of the youth of America. “I came from a broken family and could have ended up on the streets of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. However, as a very young boy I was introduced to martial arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It completely changed my life and helped me develop discipline, self responsibility and self confidence. I’ve personally worked with thousands of kid’s throughout my career and I know for a fact that many have become responsible and law abiding citizens. I take great pride in helping people, especially kids who are the future of our country, develop themselves in becoming a better person through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.”
